In 1997, Theresa Batchelor faced one of life’s most terrifying moments when doctors discovered a tumor growing in her neck—one that threatened to sever her spinal cord. While the surgical team successfully removed the tumor, their prognosis was grim: they believed she would never walk again.
But Theresa refused to accept defeat. Instead of surrendering to her diagnosis, she viewed it as a challenge to overcome rather than a predetermined fate. With fierce determination and unwavering support from her family, she threw herself into physical therapy with everything she had.

Four years later, that single rescue horse had inspired them to establish Beauty’s Haven Farm & Equine Rescue—a full-scale operation dedicated to rehabilitating neglected and abused horses.
