Cancer is one of the most challenging health battles facing people today, affecting millions worldwide and continuing to impact lives in profound ways. Yet among those facing this difficult journey, there are remarkable individuals who refuse to let their diagnosis define them or stop them from pursuing their passions. One such inspirational rider has become a shining example of courage, determination, and unwavering love for her horses.

Finding Strength in the Saddle
When this dedicated horsewoman received her cancer diagnosis, her world shifted in an instant. What began as a routine doctor’s visit in June quickly escalated into a battle she never saw coming. “I assumed it was nothing at first,” she recalls, “but I went to the doctor in June and it went from there. I was having chemotherapy by 14 August. It was a shock because before that I was perfectly fine and healthy.”

Horses as Medicine for the Soul
Throughout her treatment, this courageous rider has discovered that her horses provide more than companionship—they’re a vital source of hope and purpose. “I have good days and bad days—it’s quite up and down,” she explains honestly, “but having horses keeps me going.” On the challenging days when her energy is depleted and getting out of bed feels impossible, she leans on her support system. “There are days I can’t really do anything and can’t get out of bed. We keep the horses at home with our two-year-old rescue cob Ivan, so we’ve had to get in some help.”

Never Giving Up on Her Dreams
What’s truly remarkable is her determination to stay involved with her beloved equines whenever she’s able. “The days I can, I still muck out and I hope to still hunt Finn this season,” she says with quiet confidence. This isn’t just about riding—it’s about maintaining connection to the life and purpose that matters most to her.

An Inspiration to Us All
Her story serves as a powerful reminder that our passions can sustain us through the darkest times. For every horse lover facing health challenges, or anyone battling a serious illness, this rider’s unwavering spirit demonstrates that it’s possible to keep hope alive and stay connected to what we love most. We’re rooting for her complete recovery and a swift return to the saddle.
