But Christine, his devoted human mom, refused to give up. “After being recommended to euthanize him, we came home so I could do some soul searching,” she recalls. “I sat on the ground, cross-legged in the dirt and watched him whizz by me running with his legs bandaged. I respect the veterinarian’s opinion and knew that if I made that choice to go against what the recommendations were, I was in it for the long haul.”
With round-the-clock care, bottle feedings, and unwavering dedication, Christine and her family became Roo’s lifeline. They implemented therapeutic treatments, careful physical conditioning, and provided the emotional support this special little horse needed to thrive.
