The Perfect Setup
The planning was meticulous. Riviera had absolutely no idea what was coming. Her mom secretly arranged a veterinary check the day before, and the sale was finalized quietly. Then came the big day: Riviera spent hours at the ranch with everyone staying silent about what was really happening.
Angela recalls, “Her parents originally wanted to wait until Christmas, but honestly, I was relieved when they decided that was too hard to keep under wraps! We had several ranch customers casually show up because we couldn’t resist having witnesses to this special moment.”
The Big Reveal
Here’s where it gets really good. Riviera’s dad handed her an envelope containing a check and asked her to deliver it to Angela. The teen thought she was simply dropping off a routine board payment—no big deal, right?

The horse in question? Zipper—an 11-year-old gelding and grandson of the legendary Sensational Chip. This impressive quarter horse has been in Angela’s training program for five years and has earned an astounding 7 Pinto World Titles in just the last two years across Youth and Open Divisions, including Working Hunter, Hunter Hack, English Equitation, and Ideal Pinto English.
