One such extraordinary little horse is Gulliver, an absolutely adorable American Miniature horse living on a farm in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The Tiniest Newborn
When Gulliver was born, he was just 30 centimeters tall—so small he resembled a kitten more than a horse! Now that he’s matured slightly, he stands at an impressive 40 centimeters, but even at his full adult height, he’ll barely reach half a meter. It’s absolutely mind-boggling to imagine such a petite equine!
A Miraculous Birth Story
Gulliver’s owner, Elena Chistyakova, lives in the village of Skotnoye in northwestern Russia’s Leningrad Oblast region. When Elena learned that this tiny foal had been born on her farm, she was absolutely shocked. She couldn’t believe it until she saw him with her own eyes! “His birth was definitely a miracle,” Elena recalls. What many would consider an unusual blessing, Elena saw as an incredible opportunity to care for such a unique and special horse.
Healthy and Thriving
Despite his diminutive size, Gulliver is in excellent health and thriving beautifully on the farm. This little guy proves that great things really do come in small packages! The irony isn’t lost on anyone familiar with classic literature—his name comes from Jonathan Swift’s famous giant, Gulliver, who traveled to fantastical lands. Our tiny Gulliver is literally half the size he was supposed to be, making the name choice even more delightfully fitting.
A Potential Record-Breaker
This remarkable little horse is even being mentioned as a possible contender for the Guinness World Records! Gulliver knows he’s special, and he absolutely loves the attention from visitors and admirers who come to meet him. He’s become somewhat of a celebrity in his community, and it’s easy to see why—who could resist such an adorable and extraordinary equine friend?
