When most of us think of horses, we imagine majestic, powerful animals capable of incredible feats of strength and endurance. But the equine world is wonderfully diverse—and sometimes, delightfully tiny! Enter Microdave, a miniature horse from Kent, England, who’s capturing hearts with his impossibly small stature.
Born at just 12 inches tall, Microdave has grown to a whopping 18 inches—making him smaller than most dogs! This pint-sized pony has officially earned the title of Britain’s Smallest Horse, claiming the crown from the previous record holder by a remarkable two inches.
How Did Microdave Get So Tiny?
Microdave’s owner, Jen Baldwin-Murphy, knew from the moment he was born that something special was happening. “His legs were as thin as a Coke bottle,” Jen recalls. “I still can’t believe how little he is. When I stand near him, his withers come way below my knee.” This extraordinary miniature foal is roughly half the size of a typical newborn of his kind, making him truly one-of-a-kind.

Jen operates Haysden Liveries near Tonbridge, Kent, where Microdave has become a local celebrity. The tiny horse has attracted visitors from all across the country eager to see him in person and witness his adorable charm firsthand.
A Star in the Making

Microdave’s fame has reached such heights that Jen jokes about checking visitors’ pockets before they leave the farm. “They might be tempted to take him home!” she laughs. And honestly, we can’t blame anyone for falling head over heels for this little guy. His undeniable cuteness factor is off the charts!

What makes Microdave even more special is his gentle temperament despite his diminutive size. Miniature horses like him often serve as therapy animals and companion horses, bringing joy and comfort to people everywhere.
