In one of the most extraordinary events in equestrian history, a Texas couple witnessed the miracle of twin foals being born to their mare, Sophie. Horse twins are exceptionally rare—occurring in only 1 out of every 10,000 pregnancies—making this birth nothing short of miraculous.
When the Tuckers discovered that Sophie was carrying not one, but two foals, they were absolutely thrilled. On May 11, 2017, Sophie delivered two healthy babies: a beautiful colt and filly. The couple’s excitement was palpable, and they quickly named the dynamic duo Bonnie and Clyde, believing the names perfectly captured their personalities.
While the foals were born without complications, the Tuckers knew that post-birth care would be critical. Twin foals require extensive veterinary monitoring and specialized care to ensure they develop properly. Though Clyde faced some initial challenges, the couple remained hopeful and dedicated themselves to his recovery. Their persistence and loving care paid off tremendously.
From Miracle Births to Thriving Athletes
Fast forward nearly three years, and we have wonderful news: Bonnie and Clyde are not only healthy—they’re thriving! The twins now live with Andrea Snapp, their new owner, who has fallen completely in love with them.
Andrea shares that Bonnie has developed into a playful, spirited filly with tremendous potential. “She’s going to make an excellent barrel or pole horse in the future,” Andrea says with confidence. But it’s Clyde who truly steals Andrea’s heart with his gentle, affectionate nature.
“I’ve sat with Clyde while he’s laying down more times than I can count,” Andrea shares fondly. “He loves laying his head in your lap while he’s napping. He also loves playing with my three-year-old gelding. Every time I turn them out together, they take turns chasing each other.” It’s clear that Clyde has become a beloved family member, bringing joy and companionship to everyone around him.
